Andreas Bummel is co-founder and global coordinator of the Campaign for a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly, which advocates democratic representation of the world’s citizens at the UN and the institutions of global governance. The campaign has been endorsed by 1,500 sitting and former lawmakers from over 100 countries. He has authored numerous publications, spoken at events around the world, and organized relevant conferences on the subject, and he has a book coming out in 2017 on the project of a world parliament. He has been a council member of the World Federalist Movement–Institute for Global Policy since 1998. In recognition of his work, he was elected a fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science and was awarded the honorary membership of the Society for Threatened Peoples.
